I don’t remember if I’ve mentioned this here before, but some of our neighbors have been really struggling for the past year or so. They’ve fallen upon hard times financially, in part due to his irregular hours as an EMT, and have had a really hard time keeping up with all their bills even after changing their lifestyle and cutting back on unnecessary expenses. They had also been trying to get pregnant for nearly four years without success.
All of us other families on the street have been praying hard for this couple, keeping their eyes open for new job openings and networking opportunities to try to help him find a new job. For a while it seemed like things were getting worse, but you know the saying ‘things have to get worse before they get better’? In this case, it’s totally true. Good things have finally started happening.
After going through fertility treatments for the past several months, they just found out they’re pregnant! They’re over the moon happy, and the rest of us couldn’t be more excited for them. And to make things even better, my husband got the husband a job at his company. It has regular hours, a set schedule, and benefits. He’ll also be working closer to where his wife works, so he can get to her quickly if need be, or even if they just want to meet up for lunch.
I’m keeping them in my prayers more than ever now, for a healthy pregnancy, for success at the new job, and for things to continue getting better for them. I don’t know of any two people who deserve this more, and I know they’ll be wonderful parents. The hubs and I are so thankful that good things are finally happening to these good people, and my heart is filled with joy for them – I can only imagine how joyous they must be!

We have learned that sometimes in order to get where GOd wants us, we have to face challenges to get there. And those challenges always bring us closer to where He is! I'm so happy for your friends, too!
